Overstock Clothing

OVERSTOCK CLOTHING
Overstock clothing can be a terrific source of discount apparel. The old adage, "One man's loss is another man's gain," applies to overstock clothing in spades; the only real trick is finding reliable sources that offer clothing which fits your wardrobe needs, and of course avoiding getting ripped off. Unlike many other types of overstock merchandise, overstock clothing actually has to fit you, which can make online purchasing a bit dicier.

Primary Sources of Overstock Clothing
Most overstock clothing exists because of vendor closeouts or inventory liquidations. These are often considered to be excess left over from a previous season's production quota and are the result of alterations in design, color, and fabric, as well as missed deliveries. In theory, overstock clothing available because of a closeout should be of top quality. It should possess similar dimensions, come from the same designer, and share the same fabric type as identical apparel items that can be had off the rack in regular circumstances.

Overstock clothing is always in season and exists in virtually every brand name. Name-brand companies are more often than not left with billions of dollars' worth of surplus inventory every year and are forced to sell off their excess inventory for a number of reasons. In turn, the companies must turn over these items of premium merchandise fairly quickly and at a fraction of their retail price.

As always, it pays to exercise caution when dealing with vendors who offer overstock clothing at bargain basement prices. Brand name clothing can be faked on the cheap by using inferior fabrics and binding materials, and some companies may be using the umbrella term "overstock clothing" as a hedge against getting sued later once the shoddy workmanship manifests itself in the form of torn seams and ripped pocket linings. Still, overstock clothing is one of the best kept secrets of the fashion industry, and it would be foolish not to take advantage of what is after all common business practice.
